Hey everyone! I just wanted to take a minute and invite you all to the 1st annual American Liver Foundation RWT~Perseverance 5k walk/run on May 22nd at the Eastern Shore Center. The walk is in honor of my Uncle that recieved a liver transplant on Jan 29th, 2010! He is doing great and we are wanting to give back to others that need help! Who: Ronnie Tindle was diagnosed with Non-Alcoholic Liver Disease a few years ago, but fortunately he was able to receive a liver donation and had a successful transplant at the University Of Alabama in Birmingham on January 29th, 2010. Ronnie is currently making great strides in his recovery!
What: RWT Perseverance Walk is a 5k walk/run, including other activities, to raise funds for liver wellness education and research. All proceeds will benefit the American Liver Foundation. The walk/run is open to anyone interested in supporting liver wellness. Ronnie’s family has been so blessed where Ronnie's health is concerned and now they would like to pay it forward! Sponsorship levels are available for RWT Perseverance Walk.
When: Saturday, May 22, 2010 (rain or shine)
Registration: 7:45 a.m. Walk: 8:30 a.m.
Where: Eastern Shore Centre, Malbis, AL.
Why: 1 in every 10 people will be affected by liver disease in their lifetime. There are more than 100 types of liver disease, with Hepatitis A, B, and C being the most common. Hepatitis C is an epidemic affecting more than 4 million Americans. Currently, less than 1 million people are even aware that they have the disease. Funds are needed to raise awareness and continue to search for a cure for liver diseases as well as the promotion of organ donation.
